Course Description

This course provides learners with an introduction to biodiversity. Learners will develop a broad awareness of what biodiversity is, the current state of biodiversity in Ireland today and explore some of the positive actions that we can take to improve biodiversity.  

With industry-developed learning materials, this course will enable you to understand the impact of your workplace on biodiversity and how you can support biodiversity, irrespective of your position or level.

This short course, containing approximately four hours of content that you can complete over four weeks, is a blend of online self-study with an instructor-led live workshop. 

The course includes the following engaging and interactive online learning modules:

  • Introduction to Biodiversity ​
  • Overview of Biodiversity in Ireland 
  • Taking Positive Actions for Biodiversity​

Additionally, a 90-minute instructor-led live workshop will allow participants the opportunity to discuss key biodiversity topics and look at the practical impact of biodiversity on individuals and businesses.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of biodiversity.​
  • Demonstrate a deeper awareness of key biodiversity topics. 
  • Understand the broader requirements for businesses and their actions related to biodiversity.

This course is available to all adults over the age of 18 resident in the Republic of Ireland.
