This course provides learners with foundational skills in database management, focusing on data modelling, querying, and optimization techniques. Learners will develop expertise in database design and administration, and after completing the course, can register for an exam to gain the ITS Databases certification.

This course has no specific entry requirements, however it is suggested that you have some knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and Microsoft’s SQL Server database management systems prior to registering for this course.

The IT Specialist in Databases (ITS-201) is conducted online and lasts for approximately 50 minutes. All of the exam's questions are multiple-choice, and the exam's pass mark is 70%. As this is a closed book exam, course materials may not be used during the exam.
You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11).
No specific software is required for this course. You will be provided with an Office 365 license for access to the Microsoft suite of office software if you do not have your own access to these.
