Course Description

This course equips learners with networking fundamentals, focusing on configuring, managing, and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks. Learners will build foundational IT skills and prepare for the CompTIA Network+ certification.

By successfully passing the exam at the end of the course, you will also achieve a CompTIA Network+ N10-009 certificate, an industry recognised qualification certified by Microsoft.

This course is available to all adults over the age of 18 resident in the Republic of Ireland.

Does the course have prerequisites? 

This course is designed for intermediate level learners. It is recommended that learners have minimum of 9-12 months of hands-on experience working in a junior network administrator/network support technician job role.

Does this course have tutor support?

Yes, this course is supported by an online tutor who you will have access to during the course.

What is the exam like on this course?

The exam has a duration of two hours and consists of up to 90 questions, combining multiple-choice and performance-based formats. Questions cover essential areas including networking concepts, infrastructure, operations, security, and troubleshooting. A passing score of 720 out of 900 is required.

Do I need specific hardware or software?

You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11).

Although you can use other operating systems to access the course materials, you must use a Windows based operating system for the exam. Linux based operating systems cannot be used for the exam.
