Description

This course will equip you with the skills to understand the structure of a typical database and perform tasks using database software. You will learn how to create and organize a database, as well as how to manipulate the data within it. This course is ideal for beginners working with datasets or for those looking to enter a profession that requires knowledge of databases and database management.

Learning Outcomes

By completing this course you will be able to:

 

  • Describe the key features and layout of a typical database
  • Create and organise a database
  • Retrieve data from and manage data within a database
  • Use a database to present required information

 

By successfully passing the exam at the end of the course, you will also achieve an ICDL Certificate in Databases, an industry recognised qualification certified by ICDL.

What is the exam like on this course?

Exams are taken online and are 45 minutes in duration. There are 32-39 questions with a pass mark of 75%.

Do I need specific hardware or software?

You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11). A Mac device cannot be used for this course.
