Does the course have prerequisites?
In order to register for this course, you should already have a background in programming. This background does not necessarily need to be in Java and can include other programming languages, such as Python, C#, C++, Visual Basic, etc.

What is the exam like on this course?
The IT Specialist in Java (ITS – 304) is conducted online and lasts for approximately 50 minutes. The exam questions are all multiple-choice and the pass mark for the exam is 70%. As this is a closed book exam, course materials may not be used during the exam.
Do I need specific hardware or software?
You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11).
To compile and run a Java program, learners will need to download either JDK 17 and a text editor such as Notepad++ or, an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) such as Visual Studio Code.
