This course is available to all adults over the age of 18 resident in the Republic of Ireland.

Does the course have prerequisites?
This is an intermediate level course and as such, you should have some background in programming before embarking on this course. This can be either another coding qualification, such as the ICDL Coding Principles certification, or a third-level programming qualification.
Does this course have tutor support?
Yes, this course is supported by an online tutor who you will have access to during the course.
What is the exam like on this course?
The IT Specialist in Python (ITS – 303) exam is conducted online. The exam consists of 35 - 45 multiple-choice questions questions and lasts for approximately 50 minutes. The pass mark for this exam is 70%. As this is a closed book exam, course materials may not be used during the exam.
Do I need specific hardware or software?
You will require access to a PC or laptop running a supported version of Microsoft Windows (the most recent version is Windows 11).
You will be required to install a recent version of Python 3 on your machine. This comes packaged with a development tool called IDLE. IDLE can be used for the duration of your studies. This software is open source and free.
